2012 CMSA Convention

The Minnesota Mandolin Orchestra is thrilled to be the host orchestra for the 2012 CMSA Convention on

OCTOBER 2 - 7, 2012

Eight members of our orchestra attended the Baltimore convention - two for the first time - and everyone had a great time. We were very impressed with the terrific job Baltimore did!

We're beginning to talk about the convention - who's doing what, composers-in-residence, who we'd like to see perform. We got a LOT of input from attendees at this year's convention and we took notes!

Next year's convention will be a day longer as it's extended to include the Technique and Teacher's Workshop - a great opportunity to revisit basic and more advanced skills and how to pass them on.

The hotel for the convention has been selected - it's the Sheraton Minneapolis West, located a few miles west of downtown Minneapolis, adjacent to Ridgedale Mall.

The Minnesota Mandolin Orchestra celebrated its 20th birthday in 2011. We're very much looking forward to celebrating our birthday a little belatedly with all our mandolin friends from across the US, Canada and visitors from afar! We just came off our summer concert in the parks series in August and are beginning to work on our repertoire for the 2012 season.
