Lynn Falk, Pat Kibler and Edith Poetzschke have performed together as a trio since 1990, playing music of the Baroque and Renaissance periods. They are members of Washington's regional mandolin orchestra, The Takoma Mandoleers, and with this group participated in four international cultural exchanges with L'Ensemble a Plectre de Toulouse of Toulouse, France.
In the United States, Falk, Kibler and Poetzschke have attended numerous seminars, classes, lectures and workshops for the mandolin and related instruments. They are graduates of the American Mandolin and Guitar summer School in Bristol, Rhode Island, founding members of the Classical Mandolin Society of America and members of the Fretted Instrument Guild of America.
The groups has recently added two new members:
- Annette Henzke has played folk guitar for more than twenty-five years, and several years ago taught herself to play classical guitar. She began learning the mandolin in 1987 and has played with the Takoma Mandoleers since 1989. Annette is a frequent attendee at The American Mandolin and Guitar Summer School in Bristol, Rhode Island, and at Classical Mandolin Society of American conventions. She has performed with the Potomac Mandolin Ensemble on various occasions since 1998.
- Hoang Le has been a member of the ensemble since 1997. A classical guitarist, he is self-taught and has been playing since his youth. He also plays the mandolin and performs on the domra with the Washington Balalaika Society. He has joined the other members of the Potomac Mandolin ensemble in performances in the Southwest Chamber Music Players series, at the National Institutes of Health, Fairfax Hospital, Goodwin House, a Classical Mandolin Society of America convention, and in local social events.
The Potomac Mandolin Ensemble is available for all types of occasions and events.
