CMSA Convention Hosts in 2001

The Montana The Montana Mandolin Society was organized in 1999 as the resurrected orchestra from 1902's Bozeman Mandolin Club. The goal of the Montana Mandolin Society is one of education, preservation, and community service. We work together with communities and local schools in educational interpretation of the music and the enjoyment of acoustic instruments. Music is the ideal vehicle for community service. We are celebrating and preserving the mandolin music and tradition of the Bozeman Mandolin and Guitar Club circa 1902 and moving into the next decade.

The Montana Mandolin Society is touring Montana during the year 2000. We will perform a concert each month in a Historical Montana building. While we are in town, we will conduct educational workshops in the local school system. We look forward to summer performance in Yellowstone Park's Old Faithful Inn.

The instigator of the Montana Mandolin Society is Dennis White, who first discovered photos of the original Bozeman Mandolin Group. Dennis's co-instigator is Lori Brockway, an elementary school Principal, who manages the Montana Mandolin Society. Dennis can share the music with you. Lori can share creative ways and important reasons to bring the music to Kindergarten - fifth grade students. We'd love to hear from you.
