The Kalamazoo Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra was founded in 2003 to revive Kalamazoo's rich mandolin heritage. Ever since its first performance in July 2004, the orchestra has been extremely popular with audiences and its membership has grown steadily. Under the direction of conductor Miles Kusik, the orchestra enjoys performing classical music as well as ethnic and American "golden era" mandolin music. The KMGO is comprised of mandolins, mandolas, mandocello, guitars, bass and guest vocalists.
