We are a new mandolin ensemble here in Northern California, based in Sebastopol (Sonoma County). We're called "The Gravenstein Mandolin Ensemble," after the Gravenstein apple orchards which surround this community. We have about a dozen members, so far, and we're still looking for new players who have adequate reading skills.

Our group holds monthly rehearsals at the home of Rhonda Berney. The repertoire so far includes some Brazilian music, some arrangements of O'Carolan tunes, Mexican and Spanish tunes, Hungarian waltzes, and many great Italian mazurkas and polkas. Two of us are also members of another local group, "The Hot Frittatas", which plays all Italian and Sicilian music (with the addition of an accordion, guitar, and bass).
